What's new
Every nap, documented. Newest first.
v1.7 October 2026 latest
- Not pointing at anything? No highlight. If the pointer was already sitting still when you started talking, or you pushed it to the edge of the screen, the screenshot shows the whole window with nothing marked. Point at something within a few seconds and it's retaken with the spot marked. Settings › Capture.
- Hand your review to any agent. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and Copilot CLI read your notes directly (no pasting), fix them by number and report each fix back with proof. Claude Code gets a plugin with a review skill,
/lazyas:fix, and a "done needs proof" check. Connect an agent. - Verify fixes. When your agent says something is fixed, Lazy as tells you. Before and after side by side, take a fresh after picture of the same spot, then Verified, Reopen (with a reason the agent gets next time) or Won't fix.
- Statuses on every note. Open, sent, claimed fixed, verified, reopened, won't fix. The Sessions window shows what's waiting for you.
- Share a review as one file. A self-contained HTML report with every screenshot and status inside, for a client or a pull request.
- Guided QC passes. Not sure what to test? A checklist walks you through launch checks, phone layout, forms, design QA and copy; each check becomes its own labelled note.
- What's under the pointer. Each screenshot also records the text around the pointer, read on your computer, and on a Mac (with Accessibility allowed) the name of the thing you pointed at, so agents find it in the code faster.
- Pricing, so you know what's coming. Everything stays free during early access. When paid plans start there's a free plan (100 notes a month) and a 14-day trial of Pro. Pricing. The app checks for updates once a day, sending only your system and version.
- Licences that look after themselves. No passwords: your email is your account. A licence works on 3 of your computers (Team: 2 per seat); move it to a new one yourself, in the app or at your licence, where you can also get your key again and change or cancel your plan. Licences check in about once a week and work 30 days offline. What that sends.
- Licence agreement. The app asks you to accept the licence agreement once. The Windows and Linux app lists its open-source parts in Settings › Pro & agents (open-source licences).
v1.6 October 2026
- Now on Windows and Linux. The same app for Windows 10 and 11 and Linux (X11): same notes, voice commands and session folders, so sessions move freely between computers. Speech is turned into text right on your PC, and the shortcuts are Ctrl+Alt+Z and friends. Get it.
- Any AI, on the plan you already have. Make prompts with Gemini (free with a Google account), GitHub Copilot (Copilot Free works), ChatGPT (Plus or higher) or Claude (Pro or Max), each through its own official app on your own account. No API key needed. Choose your AI.
- Open in AI chat. Hand a session to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity or Mistral in your browser, on any plan including free. ChatGPT and Claude open with your notes typed in, and every screenshot goes on your clipboard as one labelled image. How it works.
- General comments. Say "general comment" (or press ⌃G) for feedback about the whole thing. No screenshot, and the prompt lists it first. More.
- Steadier screenshots. A note's first screenshot waits until the pointer has really stopped, a picture never jumps to the wrong note when you say "next note", and "next note" said in the same breath as your next point keeps that point's picture with it.
v1.5 October 2026
- AirPods stay on music. Lazy as now listens through your Mac's own microphone whenever AirPods, other Bluetooth headphones or your iPhone are the Mac's mic. Your headphones keep full-quality sound, and the recording no longer cuts out, which could leave notes empty. Pick another mic in Settings › Capture › Microphone.
- Never deaf mid-session. If audio devices change during a session (headphones connect or drop), Lazy as picks the right mic again without losing what you said. If it can't hear anything, the HUD tells you.
- Screenshots when you speak. One when you start talking in a note, and another each time you start talking after a pause of 3 seconds (or 2 or 5). If you're still moving the pointer or scrolling as you start, it waits for you to settle. No more piles of near-identical shots.
- Fixed: after long stretches of talking, the voice detector flickered and took far too many screenshots.
v1.4 October 2026
- Sessions name themselves. Each session is named after the page you reviewed and what you talked about, like "ACTVET · tender.thecrew.film: logo, video, colors". When you make a Claude prompt, Claude gives it a sharper title. Older sessions get a name too.
- Rename any session. Click its name at the top of the Sessions window and type. Clear it to go back to the automatic name.
- Delete a whole session. The trash button next to the gear, right-click › Move Session to Trash, or press Delete in the list. Notes, screenshots and prompt go to the Trash together, so you can still put them back.
v1.3 October 2026
- Your words, all of them. The whole session is transcribed continuously, with no time limit. Long notes are kept in full, and we fixed the bug where a long note could shrink to a single word.
- Screenshots at the moment you point. Rest the pointer on something and it's photographed right then (scrolling handled). Up to 3 screenshots per note, each with a quote of what you were saying.
- Notes end when you say so. Say "next note" or press ⌃X. Pauses no longer split notes, so think as long as you like. The HUD pill shows which note you're on and flashes when one is saved.
- Language switch. One language at a time for better accuracy, with ⌃L to flip to your quick-switch language mid-session.
- Best-accuracy transcription by default. Uses Apple's speech servers like Dictation, and falls back to on-Mac by itself when you're offline. Private mode keeps it all on your Mac.
- Faster Settings. Settings open instantly now.
v1.2 October 2026
- Permissions that stick. Microphone, Speech Recognition, Screen Recording and Keychain access now survive updates. No more "allow it again" after every new version.
- Screen Recording fix button. If macOS shows Lazy as switched on but keeps asking, Settings › Setup › Fix clears the stale entry and asks again.
- One-click Claude connect. Approve in your browser and Lazy as picks up the token by itself. No copying, no pasting.
- Pasted keys are cleaned up. Tokens copied out of a narrow Terminal with line breaks inside now just work. Keys never appear in the log.
- Universal app. Runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
- Snip safety. Without Screen Recording, snip tells you instead of saving a blank picture.
v1.1 October 2026
- Languages. Speak any language Apple's speech recognition supports. Set a main and a second language (in 1.3 this became one language at a time, with ⌃L to switch). Languages marked ⚡︎ work offline. Optionally write the prompt in English whatever you spoke.
- Snip mode (⌃⇧Z). Drag over the exact area like ⌘⇧4, then talk about it.
- Shortcut editor. Click any shortcut in Settings › Setup and press new keys. Conflicts with other apps are flagged right there.
- Connect my Claude. Use your own Claude account through Claude Code. Approve in the browser, Lazy as picks up the token and keeps it in the Keychain.
- Screen Recording fix. A Fix button for when macOS keeps asking for Screen Recording even though Lazy as is switched on.
- Settings from the menu bar. Settings is now in the menu bar menu, opens with ⌘,, and opening the app again from Applications or Spotlight brings it up.
v1.0 first build
- The first nap. Press a shortcut, point and talk. Notes came with a cropped screenshot, a transcript and the page address (back then, a pause started a new note; 1.3 changed that).
- Notes saved as
notes.mdwith PNGs in~/Documents/LazyAs, copied to the clipboard when you stop. - "Make it a prompt": rewrites rambling notes into a compact, lossless instruction for Claude.
